Anger Management

Control Your Temper

You might not even notice it at first. You are snappy, tense, irritable. But then something small sets you off and boom. You’re shouting, slamming doors, or worse. It’s easy for stress to build up. You might be juggling work, family, traffic, bills and then… your emotions? They almost always get shoved to the back. Until one day, they explode.

It might start with snapping at someone you love. Or maybe you’re more closed off than usual, silently spewing with anger. You might have said things you regret or lost your temper more often but that doesn’t mean you’re a bad person.

If you’d like to get to the root cause of your anger and get it under control, we can help.

We offer FREE consultations for private anger management. All you have to do is call 0151 706 8035 or head to our contact page. You can speak to someone without fear or judgement. You’ll probably feel relief knowing that there are people who really understand anger and how to get it under control.
A man has completely lost the plot and is livid to the point where he can't think straight.

The Hidden Side Of Anger Issues

Everyone gets angry now and then. When it starts affecting your daily life, it might be worth pausing to ask; is it something deeper going on? Anger doesn’t always mean shouting and swearing.

It can be quiet, cold, sarcastic, or internalised. Here are a few signs you might need support:

  1. You feel constantly irritable or anxious
  2. You snap at people you care about
  3. Ruminating about arguments for hours, days or weeks
  4. Regret over your reactions but struggle to stop
  5. People say you’re intimidating or hard to talk to
  6. You have trouble sleeping due to racing thoughts or guilt
  7. Feeling ashamed for losing your temper in public

You might not know why it happens. But it happens. And that’s okay. The first step isn’t having all the answers. It’s being open to change. Help for anger issues is available. It starts with one honest conversation. Give us a call on 0151 706 8035 to discuss how our anger management therapists can help you turn your life around.

A woman sits alone with her angry thoughts and can't quite process them. She feels alone.

What Happens When Anger Goes Untreated?

Unchecked anger doesn’t just affect how you feel, it affects how others experience you. Over time, the damage simply adds up.

You might notice:

  1. Friends and family distance themselves away from you
  2. Relationships break down
  3. Tension at work and job losses
  4. Physical issues like headaches, chest pain or ulcers
  5. Feelings of loneliness, guilt or shame
  6. Avoiding certain people or situations out of fear you’ll lose your temper

You may have tried to fix your anger issues on your own. Maybe you’ve told yourself, “Next time, I’ll stay calm.” It’s only a matter of time before the pressure once again builds up until there reaches a point where it will explode.

It might come as a surprise but you are not alone in the cycle. You’d be surprised at just how many people feel this way. Not many talk about it. You don’t have to wait for things to fall apart before you want to address it. There is real help for anger issues that can stop the cycle before it damages what matters most to you.

A young worker is angry that his laptop has suddenly stopped working during a lunch meeting.

Anger Is More Than Snapping

Anger rarely comes out of nowhere. It’s often a symptom of something else, something that’s been pushed down for far too long.

Here are a few common roots of anger:

  1. Childhood neglect or emotional trauma
  2. Being constantly criticised, dismissed or ignored
  3. Long-term stress or burnout
  4. Grief or loss that hasn’t been processed
  5. Feeling powerless or out of control

You might not even realise where your anger stems from. That’s completely normal. Therapy isn’t about pointing fingers, it’s about understanding. It’s about making sense of your story. When you finally put the puzzle pieces together, the rage often calms down. it not longer runs the show.

Our highly praised anger management counsellors give you the space to explore, feel and make peace with your past. All without blame or fear. Just real grounded support.

A man has had enough of the constant bickering that his business partners are throwing across. He is about to lose his temper.

Well, what can I say. Thank you so much! I haven't touched a single cigarette after my session with you and I feel fantastic. I knew that I wanted to give up smoking but I was scared I would miss it. I can honestly say that I have absolutely no desire to ever smoke again. Brilliant!

  • J Lynn

    The Wirral

I had smoked every day for 20 years and have given up in one single session with you. I feel great. The session was very relaxing and an all round pleasant experience. Thank you.

  • Tom

    Manchester

I really can't believe that I haven't smoked a single cigarette after seeing you three weeks ago. I walked away a non-smoker as has my wife and my brother since. I can't believe I am able to stand in a smoky pub and still feel a real sense of pride at not wanting to smoke. It really is a great feeling.

  • Andy

    Chester

I had tried literally everything to give up smoking. You were recommended to me a by a colleague at work. I thought I would give it a go. Wow! A month has passed and not a single craving. I am a non-smoker after one single session and very proud of myself. Your approach was a very unique experience for me...

  • Mike

I am writing you this letter with such gratitude. I had lived with depression for a number of years and had tried almost everything. When I came to see you, I really was at rock bottom. Your approach was quite simply wonderful. I understood the therapy immediately, no fancy words or phrases. I couldn't believe it only took me 8 sessions, after what seemed like a lifetime of misery! Not any more, I have since got a new job and things are going great. So thank you.

  • Dawn

    Chester

Thank you so much for all your help. I really didn't believe that I could feel this good after feeling so bad for such as long time. I am now able to enjoy life so much more without feeling anxious at all. I haven't suffered a panic attack once since completing therapy with you and I feel so much more relaxed around people. My family have noticed a big difference too and I feel on top of the world!

  • Rob

    Cheshire

I immediately felt comfortable with your approach. I know I am not the easiest person in the world to deal with and before I came to see you at the consultation, I had made up my mind that I couldn't be treated, as I had tried numerous things to help rid me of these feelings. I really didn't know what to expect. However after the consultation, I came away feeling that there was light at the end of the tunnel. You kept me motivated and I saw it through. I can't believe the change in me... thank you so much!

  • Anonymous

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that I am feeling fantastic. I was so nervous before my wedding, I really didn't think I could get up and speak in front of all those people. after my session with you, I felt so confident and relaxed about my forthcoming speech. In fact, they couldn't shut me! You really put me at ease.

  • Susan

I must admit I was very apprehensive about whether hypnotherapy could help me to lose weight. My friend recommended you to me as she had been to see you for two sessions and has since lost a stone. After my session, I cam away feeling motivated and enthusiastic. I haven't wanted to eat between meals and I find that I am nowhere near as hungry as I used to be. I'm feeling great...

  • R. Howitt

I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit us and talk about hypnotherapy and its place in sports enhancement. My students were very impressed and found the whole experience very informative. They and myself included particularly found the practical demonstration an extremely relaxing and motivational experience. Many of my students reported feeling much more focused on their training.

I also found it wonderful that you, yourself regularly practice self-hypnosis as part of your own sports training programme and the effects it has had on your own endurance stamina. it really does prove the "mind over matter" debate within this profession. I hope that you will come and visit us again soon.

Got Questions?

Let's Answer Them

Got questions about how therapy works, or what to expect? We have answered some of the most common questions to help you feel informed and at ease before getting started.

  • Will I Tell You Something I Don’t Want You To Know?

No, you remain in control the whole time. If there is something that you prefer to keep private, then that is your choice.

  • Can I Get Stuck In A Trance?

No, it’s impossible to get stuck in a trance. You can open your eyes at any time during the session, ending the hypnotic state immediately. Sometimes clients feel so relaxed that they feel a little reluctant to end the sensation but they never stay in a trance.

  • Are There Any Side Effects?

No, there are absolutely no negative side effects from being hypnotised. It is a perfectly safe and natural way of using your inner resources to reorganise your thoughts and behaviours to bring about beneficial change. After the session you will feel very relaxed but it’s completely safe to drive, operate machinery or anything else.

  • Surely A Stage Hypnotist Can Control My Mind?

No. If someone volunteers to be hypnotised by a stage hypnotist they know what they are letting themselves in for. They know they are going to be made an object of fun for entertainment purposes but they are game for a laugh and happy to go along with it. If someone was dragged out of the audience against their will, then whatever the stage hypnotist tried would not work.

  • Will You Be Able To Control My Mind?

No, this is a common misconception. Hypnotherapy is all about you having more control of your own mind, so the client is the one who has control. Nothing will be said to you under hypnosis that is not for your benefit but if you didn’t agree with anything, your mind would just reject it.
